Photographs help us report honestly to donors and partners. We take them respectfully and only use them in ways that protect the dignity of the people shown.
Consent
- We ask for verbal or written consent before close-up photographs of individuals.
- For children, consent is taken from a parent, guardian or the responsible institution.
- People may decline to be photographed without any effect on the services they receive.
What we avoid
- Images during medical examination that expose a person’s body or condition in an undignified way.
- Publishing names, addresses or health details of beneficiaries alongside their photos.
- Presenting a partner’s photographs as our own work.
